Harvard Club of New York City

DuRite Epoxy Floors completed approximately 2,000 square feet of heavy-duty flooring at the Harvard Club of New York City's commercial kitchen. The project included the installation of a seamless cementitious urethane flooring system, sanitary cove base, and pitch-to-drain areas designed to direct water toward existing drains.

Because certain sections of the kitchen could not be taken completely out of service, approximately 300 square feet of the installation was completed during a weekend shutdown. This required careful scheduling and coordination to minimize disruption to kitchen operations while maintaining the same installation standards throughout the project.

What We Did

  • Ground and mechanically prepared the existing concrete substrate to remove contamination and create a clean bonding surface.

  • Repaired cracks and surface imperfections before installation began.

  • Applied primer to the prepared concrete to establish a strong foundation for the flooring system.

  • Installed the cementitious urethane flooring system, including pitch-to-drain areas directing water toward existing drains.

  • Installed an integral cove base around the perimeter for a seamless, easy-to-clean transition.

  • Finished with a protective topcoat for added durability and long-term performance.

  • Completed approximately 300 square feet during a weekend shutdown to minimize disruption to kitchen operations.
